The Actual Legal Stuff
Who We Are
DrunkNerd.com (“we,” “us,” “our”) is operated by Rob and team out of Florida, USA. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our site.
Contact: Use our contact form at drunknerd.com/contact or find us on social media.
What Information We Collect
1. Information You Give Us Directly
Contact Form Submissions: When you fill out our contact form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your message content
- Any links or info you include
Comments: When you leave a comment on articles, we collect:
- Your name (or username)
- Your email address (not displayed publicly)
- Your comment content
- Your IP address (for spam prevention)
Why We Collect This: To respond to you, prevent spam, and facilitate discussion on articles.
2. Information Collected Automatically
Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our site. This collects:
- Pages you visit
- Time spent on site
- Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
- Browser type
- General location (city/state level, not your exact address)
- Referring websites (how you found us)
Why We Use This: To understand what content you like so we can make more of it. We’re not tracking you across the internet—just seeing what works on our site.
Cookies: We use cookies (small text files stored in your browser) for:
- Google Analytics tracking
- Google AdSense advertising
- WordPress functionality
- Remembering your comment info (so you don’t re-type it every time)
You Can Disable Cookies: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. The site will still work, but some features might be limited.
3. Advertising & Affiliate Data
Google AdSense: We display ads through Google AdSense. Google may collect:
- Your browsing behavior
- Ad interaction data
- Device information
- Approximate location
Why Google Does This: To show you relevant ads (allegedly). We don’t control what Google collects—that’s covered by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Amazon Associates: We’re a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click our Amazon affiliate links, Amazon may collect:
- Click data
- Purchase data (if you buy something)
- Device and browsing info
Why This Matters: If you buy something through our Amazon links, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps keep the site running (and my beer budget funded).

The Human Translation
Look, privacy policies are boring but necessary. Here’s the reality:
We collect basic data (analytics, ad tracking, form submissions) to run the site and make it better. We don’t do anything sketchy with your info. We use standard ad/affiliate networks that help us pay for hosting and beer.
If you’re uncomfortable with any of this, you can:
- Use ad blockers (we get it)
- Disable cookies
- Browse without commenting
- Just not visit (we’ll miss you though)
We’re not Facebook. We’re not mining your data to sell to shady data brokers. We’re just trying to run a fun website about gaming and drinking.
If you have questions, just ask. We’re approachable humans.
Cheers,
Rob
